As you can see from the postcard above Albion Nebraska has a long baseball history. The team
photo above is dated 1902 and features the team formed to help with the library funding project.
Albion Nebraska is a town of more than 2,000 located about 60 miles northwest of Columbus.
The current ball diamond is on the north west corner of town. It has a good grass infield and
a fair outfield. The field is part of a three field complex. It is the home of the local American Legion
team. Former major league player Al Mahon was born in Albion.
