As you can see from the postcard above Axtell Nebraska has a long baseball history. The team
photo above is dated 1893.
Axtell is a town of about 700. It is between Minden and Holdrege along highway 6/34. It is known as the Windmill City for the large number of windmills in the city. The current ball diamond is on the north side of town. It has a dirt infield and another smaller diamond is nearby. The field is lighted with a pretty good stand of outfield grass. There are a few bleacher seats and a nice outbuilding with a concession stand. |

Axtell has a nice K-12 school with about 300 students. The town has a clean, vibrant main street. | |
