Long term minor league player Jim Cockman took over the Grand Island franchise as manager in 1912. He played for Lincoln NE in the Western League from 1909-1911. Grand Island had a working relationship with Omaha and Pa Rourke sent a few players to Grand Island for "seasoning" when they struggled while playing in Omaha.

He also played for Oshkosh in 1914. After stops in Rockford, Cedar Rapids and Alton he found himself back in Grand Island in 1928 as player manager for Grand Island in 1928.
Roy Fentress was 8-4 in 1912. He was another Pa Rourke find. He played for the Rourkes in 1910 and 1911 before being sent to Grand Island. He wound up with Fort Worth from 1913-1916 then Memphis from 1917-1919.
L. Hartman was 8-14. He was 12-18 in 1911 for Grand Island.
