Catcher Alva "Red" Clarine was named a to the all star second team. The Oxford Nebraska native batted .320 with 19 steals and a .400 on base average.
Alfred "Peewee" Pierpoint was named honorable mention at the catchers position in 1928. He put on the mask for 74 games and played in the garden for 45 games. He averaged .297 for the Champions.
Outfield:
Otto Matulka was a regular in the garden in 1928.
He also had a 4-5 record as a pitcher in 18 games. He averaged .333.
Malone was in the outfield for 61 games. He played in a total of 108 games and averaged .311.
Schoovover averaged .403 in 38 gaames.
Grand Island had more than 10 players who played in less than 15 games for them and another group of players who were traded to other NSL clubs during the year.
Pitchers:
Harold Wunderwald was named an honorable mention all star
in 1928. He was 7-7 in 17 games.
Beauvais was 9-9 in 19 games.
Hyland managed a 4-6 record and averaged .355 at the plate.
