The Nebraska State League was a four team league again in 1935. Lincoln had no all stars in 1935 and their league record reflected their lack of talent. They wound up 23 games out of first place with a 50-64 record for the season.

Although they were not competitive during the year they had seven of their players picked up by the Cardinals at the end of the year.

Regulars

Three different players shared the first base position in 1925. Alex Filbert played first for 32 games and averaged for the season. He also played almost all positions during the year and averaged .289. He was sold to Cedar Rapids, a St. Louis Cardinals affiliate, at the end of the season. He played there for three years then played for Waterloo and Sioux Falls before ending his career with Crookston in the Northern League.
Joseph Hunter was tried at the position for 44 games and averaged .242.
Jim Irving played the other 33 games for the Links in 1935 and averaged .341. Jim was sent to Lincoln by St. Joseph in the Western League. His performance was so impressive that his contract was picked up by the Cardinals at the end of the season and optioned to Asheville in the Piedmont league.

When Alex Filbert was playing first his position at second was handled by Robert Richards who averaged .290. He was signed to a Cardinals minor league contract at the end of the year.

Short stop was one of the only stable position for the Links. Jack "Red" Juelick played short for over 100 games and he averaged .282. He was also picked up by the Cardinals at the end of the season. He played for Martinsville in 1936 and Rochester in 1937 and 1938. He played in 17 games for the Pirates in 1939.

Norman Peterson joined the league on August 1st. He joined the Links after after playing for a semi-pro team in Kearney. His performance was such that his contract was picked up by the Cardinals at the end of the season.

Al Phillips played at third base for 66 games, caught 33 games and averaged .258 for the season.

Also catching for the Links was Robert Yarashus. He averaged .316.

Outfield:
Robinson was sent to Lincoln by St. Joseph and tended the garden for 72 games and averaged .281.

Jack Gasaway was another St. Joseph transfer for 1935. He played in the outfield for 96 games. He averaged .252. He was signed by the Cardinals at the end of the year and optioned to Bloomington in the III league.

Steven Chiado was a regular in the outfield and averaged .259. He moved to Florida and played for three years in the Florida State League.

Jack Dexter averaged .300 in 51 games, mostly as catcher.

Richard Tichacek played in 28 games and averaged .182.

Pistonetti played in 54 games and averaged .253. He played for both Lincoln and Norfolk during the season.

Dobbins split his time between Lincoln and Beatrice. He avereged .311 in 105 games.

Henschen averaged .357 in 50 games. He played for Lincoln, Norfolk and Sioux Falls during the season.

Pitchers:
Les Dunkle came back to Lincoln after a try out with the St. Louis Cardinals in the spring. He was the Links main pitcher and was nearly an all star selection as the left handed pitcher. He appeared in 32 games and had an 11-8 record.

Wayne Rossbach was 11-10 in 28 games. He was picked up on an option by Cedar Rapids of the Western League at the end of the year.

Norman Tarantola had a winning record of 12-11 in 35 games.

Burton Brooks was a regular in the rotation. He was in 26 games and had a 7-12 record.

Breitfelder was 3-5 in 9 games.

Lewis Dealtine (Delatine?) appeared in 12 games and had a 2-10 record.

Robert Swan was 9-9 pitching for Lincoln and Sioux Falls during the season.

Goodwin Toraason ws 1-3 in 4 appearances.

Three other pitchers were tried during the season.
