He started his professional career with Toledo in the Class "B" Interstate League in 1900. In 1901 he moved to the Southern Association and played for Shreveport, New Orleans, Atlanta and Nashville through the 1904 season. He batted .320 in 1904 with Nashville.
In 1905 he played part of the season with Nashville and part on the left coast with Seattle in the PCL.
He played two years in the major leagues 1906 and 1907 for the St.Louis Cardinals. He was 32 years old when he made it to the major leagues. In all he played in 240 major league games and had a .248 lifetime average.
After his two years in in the National League he was back on the west coast. He played in the Northwestern League with Seattle, Vancouver, Aberdeen and Great Falls. His last year was 1917.
He died in Kirkland Washington in 1935.
