Edward William "Glass Arm Eddie" Brown was born in Milligan Nebraska in 1891. The 6'3" righty started his minor league career with Superior in the Nebraska State League in 1913. He played in 18 games and in his 68 at bats he averaged .426.

He was a regular for Superior in 1914, playing 113 games in the outfield. He averaged .298 and had 20 stolen bases. He started in Fairbury in 1915 but when the league folded he was picked up by Mason City in the Central Association. He played for Mason City through 1917 and was in the military in 1918.

When he returned from the service he went to the Texas league with San Antonio. He was picked up by the New York Giants at the end of the 1920 season and appeared in three games.

His major league career lasted through the 1928 season. He played for New York in 1921 and 22. He went back to the minors in 1922 and 1923, playing for Indianapolis in the American Association. After starting the 1924 season with Indy, he moved to Brooklyn and played for the Dodgers in 1924 and 1925. It was on to Boston for three years. He averaged .303 at the plate during his seven seasons in the majors.

Toledo in 1929, dallas in 1930, Ft Worth in 1931 were all stops on his baseball journey.

In 1932 he wound up in Omaha, playing in the Western League. He averaged .352 and was player/manager for the team.

He reappeared in 1936 as manager of the Fairbury franchise in the Nebraska State League. He played in 31 games and averaged .322. Fairbury folded in mid season, ending his managerial career.
