Ad Liska was born in Dwight Nebraska in 1906. He made it to the major leagues in 1929, with the Washington Senators. For a bio with pictures, Nebraska Major League Museum at St. Paul Nebraska has a great story with pictures.

He started his career with Lincoln in Western League in 1926. He spent the 1927 season with the Burlington Bees.

In 1928 he was 22-4 with Minneapolis in the American Association.

He then spent three seasons with the Washington Senators. In 1931 he split time between Washington, Baltimore and Chattanooga. In 1932 he was with Minneapolis and with the Phillies in the National League.

In 1934 he pitched in 45 games with Rochester and Syracuse in the International League. In 1935 he was assigned to Bloomington in the Three Eye League. He asked to be assigned to Omaha and eventually he found his way to Omaha in 1935.

Unfortunately, the Omaha franchise was not in good shape in 1935. By August the club faced financial problems and could not meet payroll. The league took over the club and moved the franchise to Council Bluffs in an attempt to finish the season.

After the experience in Omaha he moved to the west coast to try his luck in the Pacific Coast League. He was successful and played for 14 years with the Portland Beavers. In 1950 he was the manager for the Salem Senators in the Northwest League.

In 2003 Ad was inducted into the Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame. He was the best pitcher in the PCL in 1937 and had 198 total vicories during his PCL days.
