Robert Dean Logan was born in Thompson Nebraska in 1910.

He started in professional ball with the Fairbury Jeffersons in 1930. At the end of the season, Jack Holland of the Oklahoma City Indians bought his contract from Fairbury. He pitched for Oklahoma City in 1931 and moved up to Indianapolis at the end of that season.

He made his major league debut with Brooklyn in 1935. He played with five different teams in his major league career. Overall he pitched in 57 games and had 7-15 lifetime record. He pitched for the Dodgers, Tigers, Cubs, Reds and Braves. He started in the majors in 1935 and 1937, 1938 and 1945.

He spent most of his years from 1932 through 1943 with Indianapolis. He started more openers for them than any other pitcher in their history.

He moved back to Indianapolis after his major league days. He died in 1978.
