John Rohrer was from Hastings Nebraska. He started his professional career with Cedar Rapids in the III league. He was 16 years old. He played in 105 games and averaged .164.
In 1910, he put on the tools of ignorance for Green Bay in the class "C" Wisconsin Illinois League. He averaged .264 in 95 games. In 1911 he was with Dayton in the class "B" Central league. He had a .272 average.
He then went west and played in the "AA" Pacific Coast League from 1912-1915. He played for Oakland, Sacramento, Mission and Salt Lake. A good fielding catcher, he flirted with the Mendoza line most of these years.
He wound up in Lincoln in 1916 where he averaged.222 in 89 games and he averaged .230 in 1917.
He stayed in the Western League in 1918 playing for Sioux City. He then went west again, playing for Salt Lake in 1919 and Seattle in 1920.
