York played their home games at Parks Park. On a good day they drew crowds of over 1,000 fans. They stayed above .500 for the year and wound up in 3rd place at the end of the season.

Frank Gardiner was the manager of the team in 1913. In a game against Hastings the club scored 14 runs in one inning, coming close to the league record of 15 runs in one inning.

Regulars

Charles Melvin Payne was a regular on the club since its inception in 1911. He moved to the outfield in 1913. Payne only played in thirty eight games in 1913 but he batted .441 for those games.

Rice averaged .266 while playing the hot corner for 104 games.

Clark averaged .406 and tended the garden for 105 games.

Mattick averaged .264 in 87 games.

Brown was the regular catcher for York. He averaged .305 in 86 games.

Walter Malmquist was a 22 year old York County native. He was born north of Charleston Nebraska. He played short stop for the York franchise and was considered a fine fielder. After hitting .316 in 1911 and .296 in 1912 he led the Nebraska State League in hitting in 1913. The Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball lists his league leading average at .350 but the Reach Guide for 1914 lists his average as .477 with 154 hits in 323 at bats. George Vass in the September 2003 Baseball Digest, gave Walter credit for the highest recorded batting average. George states that Walter hit .447 for York in the NSL in 1913.

Earl Chase from Newark Ohio held down the first base position for York in 1913. He played in the Oklahoma State League and the Wisconsin Illinois League before joining York for 1913. According to the Reach Guide for 1914 he batted .392 while playing in eighty three games for the prohibs.

Pitchers:
B. Everdon led the league with 17 wins. He pitched in 27 games and was 17-10 for the year.

Jack Richardson was 6-4 in 1913. The Central Illinois native made it to the Major Leagues in 1915. He plaed in 3 games for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1915 and one game in 1916.
