The Nebraska City Forresters were charter members of the class "D" MINK league in 1910. The Forresters were league champions in 1912. The franchise lasted from the beginning until the league folded in June of 1913.
In the spring of 1910 the granstand at the ballpark on 15th street was enlarged. In addition, a telephone was located in the box office on the fifteenth street grand stand. Scores of the MINK games at other locations were then posted for the fans.
The Nebraska City Ministerial Association opposed the playing of MINK league games on Sunday. On June 26th a "pick up" game was played at the Driving Park against Auburn. Rev. J. A. Koser complained and warrants were issued for the arrest of a number of the Nebraska City players. By 1912 the issue was resolved as the team played their weekday and Saturday games at the 15th Street ballpark and Sunday games were scheduled for the Driving Park.
For 1913 the league tried to run with just four teams. Weather related issues hurt attendance at all the league games and the league was not able to maintain a sound financial status. The league folded in June. That was the last time for minor league baseball in Nebraska City.
