1910
Seward was one of the charter members of the Nebraska State League in 1910.
The league was a class "D" league with a salary limit of $900.00 and a player limit
of 12 after May 28th.
May 14, 1910, opening day in Seward was cold and windy but
that did not deter the crowd of almost 600 baseball fans.
Seward hosted Red Cloud and won by a score of 7 to 6.
The Seward Independent Demorat called the
team the "White Sox" while other baseball historians have called them the "Statesmen".
Seward finished the year with a 50-62 record, in sixth place.
Seward improved to a fourth place finish in 1911. They still did not reach .500 ball finishing with a 53-57 record.
The team was a consistent sixth place in 1912, once again finishing in sixth place.
